This program was designed with the goal of helping residents to improve and maintain an overall sense of wellness by offering activities which benefit the mind, body and spirit. Most activities are scheduled once or twice each week.
Aerobics
Simple to follow exercises set to lively music to help improve posture, strengthen muscles and circulation and build endurance. Instructors are licensed and certified from the Cuyahoga Falls YMCA.
Yoga
Activities designed to move the entire body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Instructors are licensed and certified from the Cuyahoga Falls YMCA.
Dancercise
A unique program offered by World of Dances owner/instructor Julie Buckeye. Developed for seniors, dance movements are used for a variety of health benefits including increased stamina, circulation and body core strengthening. Also designed for posture improvement, stress reduction and improved concentration through use of mind/body integration.
Walking Groups
An enjoyable way to interact with other group participants. Trips are coordinated to nearby Chapel Hill Mall or to local outdoor trails when weather permits. Walkers also enjoy the use of an outdoor walking track surrounding The Village.
Memory Fitness
Fun activities designed to challenge the mind in the form of word puzzles, memory recall, crosswords and miscellaneous problem solving games.
Speaker Series
Each month attendees enjoy a featured presentation covering a wide variety of topics including healthcare, safety, cultural or general interest.
